僕射の説明

Chinese Etymology At the beginning of the Qin dynasty, skilled archers were highly prized, and often given positions of responsibility within the government. By the Han Dynasty, the púyè became assistants to prominent ministers (such as the Minister Steward). By the Tang Dynasty, the power of the púyè rivaled that of the Imperial Chancellor's. Subsequently, the position of púyè was phased out. This is one of the very few compounds where it is pronounced yè.

僕射（ぼくや）は、中国の官名。戦国時代には各政府機関のほとんどが設置した次官であった。漢以後、僕射という名称は尚書令の次官である尚書僕射にしか使われなくなる。 隋・唐・五代・宋・遼・金では、皇帝が尚書令に就任したため、尚書僕射が尚書省の実質的長官になる。そしてこの時代、尚書僕射は宰相とほぼ同意に使われた。 日本でも左大臣右大臣の唐名として用いられた。大坂冬の陣直前の方広寺鐘銘事件では幕府側の林羅山が「『右僕射源朝臣』は『源朝臣（徳川家康）を射る』という意味だ」と因縁を付けている。
