卿卿我我の説明

Chinese Etymology The chengyu, or at least the reduplication of 卿 (MC kʰˠiæŋ) in it, appears to be influenced by a story in the A New Account of the Tales of the World. Wang Rong, one of the Seven Sages (竹林七賢), felt discomfited by his wife calling him 卿 (MC kʰˠiæŋ), a second-person term of endearment then typically used by the man to refer to the woman (i.e. men's speech). The wife, in retort, famously said Here in the construct 卿卿, the first 卿 is used by conversion (or anthimeria) as a verb that means "to call someone by 卿", which was idiomatic due to the high degree of elasticity of the Chinese language. 王戎（234年—305年），字濬沖，小字阿戎，琅邪臨沂（在今山東省臨沂市北）人。西晉大臣，官至司徒，封安豐侯，人稱王安豐。生於魏青龍二年（234年），卒於晉永興二年（305年），出自魏晉高門士族琅邪王氏，為幽州刺史王雄之孫，涼州刺史王渾之子，司徒王衍之堂兄，且與太保王祥同宗。王戎是「竹林七賢」中最年少的一位。
